BC and the Electric Car
With 93 per cent of our electricity coming from clean or renewable resources available throughout BC,
plug-in electric vehicles have the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the
transportation sector.
In anticipation of these vehicles becoming more common on our roads, BC Hydro has undertaken
numerous initiatives that will allow it to gain a more complete picture of how these vehicles will operate,
the demands that may be placed on BC Hydro infrastructure and the support required by customers.
